Description
The 993 GT2 was Porsche's final statement before the 911 went water-cooled. Built for GT2 homologation, it stripped out the all-wheel drive of the Turbo and sent 430 horsepower to the rear axle alone — an arrangement that required a driver who understood the consequences. The 993 was already the last air-cooled 911; the GT2 was the last of the air-cooled racers, and there has been nothing quite like it since.
Only 57 road cars were built in the first GT2 evolution, each Weissach's most extreme interpretation of the 911 philosophy: maximum performance, no concessions to comfort. This Collectors Edition captures the GT2 in correct wide-body stance with flared guards, rear wing, and 18-inch telephone-dial wheels.
