Kei Miura's Pandem/Rocket Bunny programme has become the most recognised aftermarket body kit operation in the world by doing one thing consistently: taking existing cars and adding overfenders that are simultaneously more aggressive and more aesthetically resolved than anything the factories produced. The Nissan S130 280ZX — a car that in standard form was the civilised successor to the legendary 240Z — becomes something genuinely confrontational under the Pandem treatment. The Formula Z build debuted at SEMA 2023 as a real car and a die-cast simultaneously, developed in parallel between Miura and Hot Wheels.
The Elite 64 captures it in all-white with negative-camber Real Riders wheels and gold rims — the cleanest possible presentation of the widebody proportions. 20+ piece construction, full-metal ZAMAC body, medium-tint windows, matte black chassis. Hot Wheels and Pandem collaborated on both the real car and the casting simultaneously, which means what exists in 1:64 is not a replica of something someone else built — it is a co-authored object, equally valid in either scale.
