The Twin Mill is one of the original Hot Wheels designs — a fantasy machine that appeared in 1969 with twin supercharged V8 engines mounted side by side in a body that could not have come from any road car factory. It was Hot Wheels at its most unrestrained: a statement that die-cast didn't need to replicate what already existed, but could invent something entirely its own. The Twin Mill became an icon of the brand's original spirit and has been reissued across every major collector tier since.
Daniel Arsham's treatment applies his Eroded concept — the process by which objects are reimagined as ancient artefacts, encrusted with crystal formations as if centuries had passed — to a vehicle that never existed in the first place. A fictional car aged through a fictional process: pure Arsham logic applied to pure Hot Wheels logic. The pink comes from his personal palette, consistent across his sculpture and collaboration work.
