Description
Alessandro de Tomaso named his car the Mangusta — mongoose — because the mongoose kills the cobra. The cobra was, of course, the Shelby Cobra, and de Tomaso meant it as a direct challenge rather than a metaphor. The Mangusta backed it up: mid-engined layout, Ford V8, a body designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro at Ghia with clamshell rear covers that opened to reveal the drivetrain like a declaration. It was beautiful to look at and difficult to master, in the tradition of the best Italian machines.
Hot Wheels RLC treats it with the respect the design deserves — Spectraflame finish, Real Riders wheels, and Giugiaro's long, low proportions faithfully captured at 1:64. An RLC exclusive. 1 unit at Factory 64.
