Description
BAPE — A Bathing Ape — was founded by Nigo in Harajuku in 1993 and spent a decade as the most sought-after streetwear brand in Japan before the rest of the world caught up. The Shark Hoodie, the BAPESTA, and the camouflage print became the visual language of a particular era in hip-hop and street culture — worn by Pharrell, Jay-Z, and Kanye before collaborations between streetwear brands and consumer goods became commonplace. BAPE didn't license its name to projects it didn't believe in, and when a collaboration happened, it was noticed.
The Hot Wheels RLC x BAPE release is what that pairing implies: a collector die-cast made for an audience that treats both streetwear and die-cast culture with equal seriousness. RLC Exclusive packaging, Real Riders wheels, premium finish, limited production — the Hot Wheels approach matches the BAPE model of quantity-controlled drops and deliberate scarcity. As-new condition, removed from packaging for display only. Original box included. The intersection of two cultures that both understand the difference between what is rare and what is merely expensive.
