Description

The C110 Skyline — the generation that followed the legendary Hakosuka — arrived in 1972 with styling that moved away from the sharp edges of its predecessor toward a softer, more European profile. In Japan it became known as the 'Ken and Mary' Skyline, named after a couple featured in a popular television advertising campaign, and the nickname stuck because it captured something true about the car's character: more refined, more composed, more comfortable with life beyond a racing circuit. The KPGC110 2000GT carried the performance bloodline through a twin-cam inline-six, but wore it differently than the Hakosuka had.

Maisto's 1:24 Special Edition renders it in pearl white, a finish that shows the car's horizontal character lines and the understated fastback roofline with considerable clarity. At this larger scale, the grille design, door trim, and five-spoke wheels read with a richness the 1:64 format cannot match. For collectors interested in the full Skyline GT-R lineage rather than just its most famous chapters, the C110 is a necessary addition — the link between the Hakosuka's racing origins and the R30-onwards evolution into a modern performance platform.
